Clinic-Based Offerings

Helping a student
The U ROSE program is collaborating with the School Health Initiative which is under the direction of Dr. Jocelyn Lawrence of the University of Miami Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. The School Health Initiative provides free healthcare services to children in nine Miami-Dade County public schools. The U ROSE program will be available on site to provide behavioral weight management to students attending schools served by the School Health Initiative.


Interested students and their parents will be provided FREE behavioral weight management counseling. Solution-focused interventions are available at no cost for children, teens, and parents who would like help adopting a healthy lifestyle and managing weight.


Counseling Includes:

  • Assessment of current lifestyle habits
  • Individually-tailored goal setting to lose weight or live a healthier life
  • Education about healthy nutrition and activity habits


Parent and child eatingProblem-solving to help over-come barriers to a healthy life-style at home or at school
U ROSE clinic-based offerings are also available at the University of Miami, Coral Gables campus for other students and parents in the greater Miami community.
